I formed Lunatic and Swan Studios in 2008 as an on-line brand identity for my creative projects and collaborations. I always planned on using Lunatic and Swan Studios to make a living from my own handmade curiosities. I wanted to contribute something new and unique to the vibrant online marketplace. I waited until I had a prototype of something that no one else was making, and something I had experience making and using. The first handmade upcycled art object to appear in the Lunatic and Swan Studios shop was the "Idea Jar".
My old friend and long term artistic collaborator still has and uses the first idea jar I made as a college freshman in 2004. That jar began as a poetic muse but evolved to include ideas for photography. Since then I’ve made Idea Jars with a wide range of appearances and purposes.
